The Interview: Jorge Villalobos, former executive president

Jorge villalobos Jorge Villalobos is a well-known leader in Mexico for issues focused on responsibility and for being executive president of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) for 30 years. A few days ago he left this important position and tells Expok in an interview about the experience that his stay at the Mexican institution left him with. How is Cemefi consolidated? The board of directors has an Executive Committee, which resolves more immediate issues, while the operational staff is headed by the Executive Presidency and is made up of 45 people. Currently, Cemefi's membership totals more than 1,500 institutions and people. Of them, 1,350 are foundations and organizations, 142 companies, 50 people, 12 government entities and 75 specialized consultants. Additionally, there are two types of users of our services: 1,560 companies that hold the ESR Distinction. 797 organizations that have the Institutional and Transparency Accreditation.



One of the most important data about this organization is the origin of its name, which comes from the Canadian Center for Philanthropy , an organization that also has civil society organizations, foundations Ecuador Mobile Number List and companies. More than 30 years of experience at Cemefi Jorge Villalobos has a degree in Theology from the Free Institute of Philosophy and Sciences and completed a master's degree in Communication and Development at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Throughout his professional career he has published dozens of articles on communication, civil society, philanthropy, the third sector and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and collaborates on various boards of directors of institutions.







This specialist liked the topic of communication, so before fully entering the world of social responsibility, he collaborated with Fomento Cultural y Educativo, AC, where he was responsible for projects for the development of community radio stations in Mexico. . In 1989, a year before entering Cemefi, he joined the Universidad Iberoamericana where he served as Coordinator of the Communication Degree, taught radio and directed the creation of Radio Ibero, the first station of a private university in Mexico. At the international level, he was part of the Board of Directors of the Fórum Empresa network, the main reference for Corporate Social Responsibility on the continent, and of the Board of Directors of the Ibero-American Meetings of Civil Society. “For me, Cemefi is a space in which I could share all the experience acquired in civil society organizations and it is an institution with which the organized participation of citizens is strengthened.” Jorge Villalobos, former executive president of Cemefi. For the expert, Cemefi is an institution that promotes an organized vision of citizens, but also the role of the participation of companies with a social vision of a new business management, a journey that Villalobos learned over 30 years.
